I love how this book looks at disco from a historical and sociological perspective and also traces its roots to R&B. Having personally experienced many of the things Echols writes about (songs, books, places), I can attest to its accuracy (although I also learned some things I didn’t know).I’m a bit sad that there’s now a generation (or two) of people who never experienced this music.
